Description

This vintage set includes 6 cups and plates, a creamer and a sugar bowl with lid. It is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. The gold details ate in excellent condition. It appears to have never been used.
The Landscape pattern shows a pagoda, mountains, trees and there are textured areas that may represent snow. ( see pics. 5 and 8)
Both the cups and plates have a gold edge and the handles on the cups, creamer and sugar bowl have gold detail. The design is asymmetrical and makes use of negative space, hallmarks of Japanese art. Each piece is hand painted.
This set was made by Fukagawa of Arita, Japan. This region is noted for fine porcelain. Fukagawa  was founded in 1894 and has served as purveyor for the Imperial Household since 1910. This very fine, translucent porcelain is 'white true high temperature' porcelain. It is the only kind that Fukagawa makes.
Measurements are approximate.  Cup about 2" H, 3 3/4" diameter, 4 1/2" lip to handle. Plate is about 10" long, 6 1/4" at widest. Sugar is 6" wide handle to handle, 4" high with lid, 3" high without lid. Creamer is 3" high and 5 1/2" wide.
this would add a special touch to brunch, snacks, or dessert.
